Santa Fe, NM/ Jackson, WY(August 8, 2024) –The Chipeta Trading Company is a Santa Fe, New Mexico based company specializing in historic and vintage Southwest jewelry, is pleased to announce a partnership with Native American Jump Start.  Native American Jump Start (NAJS), a Jackson, Wyoming based nonprofit whose mission is to provide opportunities for growth and success for Native American individuals through education and employment,

Don Siegel, founder and owner of Chipeta Trading Company has been supporting Native American students by providing scholarship opportunities to young Native students for the past several years.  Beginning in the Fall of 2024, Don will begin working with Native American Jump Start to establish the Chipeta Scholarship Fund administered by Native American Jump Start.  The Scholarship will provide funding of up to $5,000 per individual for undergraduate students and funding up to $10,000 for Native students pursuing Graduate and Post Graduate programs.  A total amount of $80,000 in funding will be available annually through the Chipeta Scholarship Fund.

Don Siegel says, “Being able to give back to the Native community is a critical part of our vision and mission as an organization. I have chosen to work with the team at Native American Jump Start because of the impactful work that they have done for over 25 years in supporting the Native community. I’m honored to help make a difference and hope that our partnership with NAJS inspires others in the Native collectables community to do the same”.
