Native American Jump Start and Health Tech Academy Partner Together to Bring No-Cost Allied Healthcare Training to the Native American Community

Jackson, WY (August 1, 2024) – Native American Jump Start (NAJS), a Jackson, Wyoming based nonprofit whose mission is to provide opportunities for growth and success for Native American individuals through education and employment, is pleased to announce a partnership with Health Tech Academy.  Health Tech Academy (HTA) is committed to solving healthcare staffing challenges by partnering with organizations like NAJS to help provide education and resources for emerging and diverse roles through apprenticeship learning pathways and career coaching.

NAJS and HTA will collaborate to present programs of Health Tech Academy to the Native American community across the country.  Programs associated with HTA’s learning are: Surgical technologist, Medical Assistant, Patient Care technician, Pharmacy Technician, Dental Assistant, Medical Coding, Medical Billing & Coding and Phlebotomy Technician.  In many cases, Native American students can participate in HTA’s programs for NO-COST, for those who qualify.  “This is an amazing program that we are excited to share with the Native community,” says Ray Southworth, Board Chair of NAJS.  “Through our partnership with Health Tech Academy we hope to be able to provide young Native people with the opportunity to gain career-oriented skills so that they can support their local communities.”

Karla Coleman from Health Tech Academy says, “As the National Director of Workforce Development for Health Tech Academy, I am thrilled about this partnership with NAJS. Together, we are not only addressing critical Allied healthcare staffing needs but also empowering Native American individuals with valuable skills and career opportunities.
