Student Profile: Jazmine Wildcat

Jazmine Wildcat is an enrolled member of the Northern Arapaho tribe, located on the Wind River Reservation. She is a rising senior at the University of Wyoming, currently pursuing a triple major in Psychology, Native American & Indigenous Studies, and Political Science. Her personal goals for the future include furthering her education after graduation, aiming to obtain a Master of Public Health with a focus on health policy, and eventually pursuing a PhD.

Jazmine aspires to make a positive impact on the health system for Indigenous people on a wide scale. She aims to bring about changes within the current Native health system, utilizing her higher education in her professional career to help preserve the identity, knowledge, and culture of her tribe. Specifically, Jazmine aims to create the most efficient and useful database for Indigenous people, to preserve traditions across the reservation, and assist other tribes in need.

Through her internship, Jazmine hopes to contribute to something bigger than herself that will benefit the entire community for generations to come. In her free time, she enjoys beading, watching sports, spending time with her family, and traveling to speak and educate other youth leaders on how to create positive change in the world.
